Guide to Parents / Guardians
MyChildAtSchool (MCAS) is an online platform that allows teachers to record and monitor pupils’ achievements and behaviour throughout the school day. At Ysgol Henry Richard, we value strong partnerships with parents, and MCAS enables us to share important information with you securely and instantly—keeping you updated on your child’s progress in real time.
MCAS is used to share information with parents about:
• Achievement Points
• Behaviour Points
• Attendance
• Homework
As well as to communicate with parents and to provide a safe system for payments.
1) Get set up
- Check your invite
Ysgol Henry Richard email an invite to parents for them to join Bromcom. Please contact the school if you have not received an access link.
- Create your password
Click the link in the school email, set a password, then return to the login screen. If your email isn’t recognised, contact the school so they can update it.
- First login (web or app)
Web: go to mychildatschool.com and sign in with your email + password.
App: install “MyChildAtSchool – Parent App” from your app store, then sign in with the same details.
Tip: Click “Redeem Invitation Code?” on the login page and enter the School ID/postcode, your email/username, and the 10-character code. This is usually one-time only.
2) Add/see all your children
If more than one child is linked to your email, you can switch between them from the Dashboard dropdown.
3) What you’ll find on the Dashboard
- Attendance (daily/lesson marks),
- Timetable
- Calendar
- Behaviour & Achievements,
- Assessment/Reports,
- Homework
- Messages
- Payments for dinners, trips and clubs.
- Parents Evening Booking System
4) Do the everyday tasks
- Read school messages: open Messages/Announcements; reply if enabled by the school.
- Make a payment / top-up dinner money: go to Payments add items to basket and Checkout. Switching school/child can clear the basket—finish checkout first.
- Check homework: open Homework to view tasks and instructions.
- View reports & grades: open Assessment/Reports for downloadable documents when the school publishes them.
- Update contact details: look for Account/Profile/Contact Details (if your school enables parent edits) to keep phone and email current.
5) Notifications & security
- Enable notifications in the app’s settings so you don’t miss messages, behaviour alerts, or new reports.
- Use Face/Touch ID or a device PIN for quick, secure access (phone setting).
6) Troubleshooting (quick fixes)
- Forgotten password? Click Reset Password on the login page and follow the email link.
- Wrong email or can’t log in? Ask school to confirm the email on your MCAS contact record.
- New to MCAS but no invite? Please contact the school on gweinyddu@henryrichard.ceredigion.sch.uk
- Multiple schools/children? Switch from the Dashboard dropdown.
Guide for Pupils
MyChildAtSchool (MCAS) is an online system that lets you see important information about your school day. Teachers use it to record your achievements and behaviour, and you can log in to check your timetable, homework, attendance, and progress. It’s designed to help you stay organised, keep track of how you’re doing, and know what’s expected in real time.
MCAS is used to share information with parents about:

as well as to communicate with your parents / guardians and to provide a safe system for payments.
1) Get set up
- Get your school login
Your account is created by school. You’ll receive an Invitation Code to set a password through your Hwb email.
- Set your password
Go to the login page, click Redeem Invitation Code?, follow the prompts, and create a password.
2) Sign in (web or app)
- Web: open bromcomvle.com and log in with your School ID + Username + Password, or choose Login with Microsoft
- App: install Bromcom Student App from your app store, then sign in using the same details.
Ysgol Henry Richard enable Magic Link sign-in on the app (you enter the School ID and confirm via a link), and you may be asked to set a simple app PIN. If you see these options, just follow the on-screen steps.
3) What you’ll see
- Timetable (live, with any changes), plus Exam Timetable/Results when relevant.
- Homework (view tasks, instructions, and—where enabled—submit work).
- Behaviour & Attendance summaries.
4) Everyday tasks
- Check today’s lessons: open My Timetable for your day/week view.
- Stay on top of homework: open Homework, read instructions, download resources, and submit if your teacher allows online submission.
- Keep an eye on points & attendance: open Behaviour/Attendance to review updates.
- Exam info: check Exam Timetable/Results during exam seasons.
5) Quick fixes
- Forgotten details? Click Forgotten Login Details? on the web login page. If you still can’t sign in, ask a member of staff to help you reset your account.
- New device? Install the Bromcom Student App and sign in again.
- First-time setup with a code? Use Redeem Invitation Code? on the login screen to create your password.
